Before ending its nearly two hour hearing, the committee investigating the Capitol insurrection played video footage of rioters saying former President Donald Trump asked them to come to Washington on Jan. 6.

In his opening statement, Quested said that on January 6th, 2021, he “documented the crowd turn from protesters to rioters to insurrectionists.”

Edwards said in her opening statement June 9 before the House Jan. 6 committee that on the day of the attack and in the days that followed, she was called a number of names, including “Nancy Pelosi’s dog,” “incompetent,” “hero,”

The House committee investigating the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection presented 12 minutes of violent, previously unseen footage of rioters beating police and smashing way into Capitol.

Rep. Bennie Thompson, D-Miss., said “the world is watching” the U.S. response to the panel’s yearlong investigation into the Capitol riot and the defeated president’s extraordinary effort to stop Congress from certifying Joe Biden’s election victory.
